Football Recap: Desmian Curry's Menacing Defense Leads Airline over Natchitoches Central

Airline won the last time they faced Natchitoches Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over the Chiefs. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Airline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Desmian Curry led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Keadre Garner was another major factor on D, forcing two fumbles and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Natchitoches Central still got an impressive performance from Kelton Howard, who rushed for 231 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Howard's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 201 rushing yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Airline and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Natchitoches Central, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Coming up, Airline will look to defend their home field on the 31st against Byrd at 7:00 p.m. The Vikings will be up against the Yellow Jackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.57 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Natchitoches Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Huntington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
