Soccer Recap: Cuthbertson Takes Down West Cabarrus in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cuthbertson walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the West Cabarrus Wolverines a 1-0 shutout on Monday. Cuthbertson wouldn't have won without Cesar Ramirez, who scored the game-winner.

Cuthbertson is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. As for West Cabarrus, their defeat ended a 12-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-2.

Looking ahead, Cuthbertson will take on Lake Norman on Thursday. Cuthbertson will need to watch out since Lake Norman have now posted at least four goals in their last five matchups. West Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
