Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Platteville + Official Tickets

The Monroe Cheesemakers will head out on the road to take on the Platteville Hillmen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monroe fell victim to McFarland and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while McFarland are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Platteville's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Edgerton by a score of 2-1.

Monroe has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-2 record this season. As for Platteville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-2.

Monroe suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Platteville in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cheesemakers were down 3-0.
