Baseball Recap: Coweta's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Coweta came into Monday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Nathan Hale Rangers with a sharp 14-1 win on Monday. Considering the Tigers have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Trace Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Braxton Barnes looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, Jackson Plyler was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sutter Winsworth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coweta's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Nathan Hale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coweta will square off against Tahlequah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coweta is facing Tahlequah at the right time seeing as Tahlequah is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Nathan Hale, they will challenge Memorial at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
