Basketball Recap: New Roads Jaguars vs. Wildwood Wolves
New Roads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 70-46 to the Wildwood Wolves. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-44 last Saturday.
Wildwood had a senior duo take command as Jonah Spitz dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten boards, and 12 assists and Matthew Ardell dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 14 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spitz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zane Bryant, who went 7 for 16 en route to 15 points and five steals.
New Roads' record is now 3-10. As for Wildwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Roads will take on Hawthorne Math & Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wildwood, they will square off against Geffen Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
