Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Huron Tigers
Edison has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Huron Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Edison made easy work of Vermilion and carried off a 34-14 victory. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Vermilion is ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Huron had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 28-6 margin over Clyde.
Huron's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Delaney led the charge by rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 62 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Cody Scroggins, who rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Edison has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in eight of their first nine matches, giving them a 8-1 record. As for Huron, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Edison suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Huron in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Edison have more luck at home instead of on the road?
