Recap: Clarion Area Bobcats vs. Cameron County Raiders
The Clarion Area Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Cameron County with a sharp 49-24 victory on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarion Area.
Clarion Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Babington, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Kline, who scored nine points.
Despite the defeat, Cameron County saw an underclassman step up: Trinity Earle dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Those 19 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Clarion Area now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cameron County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarion Area will take on East Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cameron County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. Port Allegany presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cameron County in Pennsylvania (Port Allegany is ranked 275th, while Cameron County is ranked 583rd).
