Appling County extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 7-3. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over the Pierce County Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaiden Knight was his usual excellent self, rushing for 269 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per carry. Those 269 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Appling County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

As for Pierce County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 11.6 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Pierce County lost, don't look at Jaeveon Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
