Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Levi Hamilton and Joey Kitko Lead Glendale to Victory

Glendale won against Northern Bedford County last Monday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Glendale Vikings walked away with a 53-41 victory over the Blacklick Valley Vikings. That looming 53-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Glendale yet this season.

Leading Glendale to victory were Joey Kitko and Levi Hamilton. Kitko went 7 of 17 en route to 20 points and six rebounds, while Hamilton went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points. The match was Kitko's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen McGarvey, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Glendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Blacklick Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Sheesley, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Nedrich, who posted seven points and six assists.

The win got Glendale back to even at 3-3. As for Blacklick Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-62 defeat against Curwensville on the 20th. As for Blacklick Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-28 victory against Hyndman Charter School on the 19th.
