The Frontier Falcons will take on the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Frontier has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 14.
Frontier fell victim to Tri-County and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Cavaliers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Frontier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addi Govert, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Central Catholic had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Frankfort 12-2 on Thursday. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14, 2025 (when they won 32-7).
Kendyl McCammon made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. McCammon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hannah Lee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Embree Boutelle was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Lafayette Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankfort only posted a batting average of .211.
Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 2-13.
Frontier suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Lafayette Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
