Volleyball Recap: David City Has No Trouble Against Cross County

Cross County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday David City proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Scouts in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

David City never let Cross County on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.

David City found their leader in freshman Kaileigh Covert, who had eight digs and one assist. Brooke Golden also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

David City was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cross County had strong showings from Chloe Johnston, who had ten digs, and Ella Cramer, who had seven digs.

David City's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cross County, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

David City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Lakeview on the 25th. As for Cross County, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Central Valley on the 25th.
