Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Millard North's 19th in Last 20 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Millard North walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elkhorn South Storm a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 26 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Macey Jarose was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Mallory Closman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Millard North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive games.

Millard North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Elkhorn South, they moved to 23-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Millard North nor the Storm have any future games scheduled.
