Basketball Recap: Beaver Dam Triumphs

Beaver Dam's tournament run continued when they took on Chaparral on Saturday. The Diamondback narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cowboys 37-35.

Despite the defeat, Chaparral had strong showings from R'Breial Hicks, who shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds, and Zamariyah Walker, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Penny Gunter also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Beaver Dam's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Chaparral, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Beaver Dam didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-18 victory against Liberty Baptist Academy on the 5th. As for Chaparral, they will take on Silverado at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
