Football Recap: Eau Claire Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eau Claire can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers and fell 42-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Shamrocks were not able to get on the board.

Batesburg-Leesville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kd Whitt out in front who picked up 40 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 70 yards and one TD. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Whitt a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Reese Boehnke, who threw for 70 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Eau Claire has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Batesburg-Leesville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Eau Claire does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they will head out to challenge Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Cyclones have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
