The Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans will take on the Altoona-Midway Jets in a tournament on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Altoona-Midway is headed out to face a Trojans team ready to give their home crowd a win. Marais des Cygnes Valley had to suffer through a 52-21 loss at the hands of Lyndon. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Marais des Cygnes Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landon Reed posted seven points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Reed a new career-high in rebounds.

Meanwhile, Altoona-Midway managed to keep up with Hartford until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Altoona-Midway came up short against Hartford, falling 64-44. The loss continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.

Defeat or not, Altoona-Midway got some senior leadership from William Stackhouse and Kieran Foster. Stackhouse dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Foster went 6 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Stackhouse is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season.

Marais des Cygnes Valley came up short against Altoona-Midway in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 41-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stackhouse, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
