Basketball Preview: Culleoka Warriors vs. Richland Raiders
Culleoka is 0-10 against the Raiders since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Culleoka Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Richland Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Culleoka scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. Everything went their way against Hampshire as Culleoka made off with a 60-34 win.
Meanwhile, Richland waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past Hampshire 62-19 at home. Richland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Shelby Higgins was her usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Blair, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Culleoka's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Richland, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Culleoka came up short against the Raiders in their previous matchup last Thursday, falling 49-42. Can Culleoka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
