Two dominant backs in Dylan Ramirez and Dustin Otteson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Carlin Railroaders will head out on the road to face off against the Tonopah Muckers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Carlin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Wells, posting a 46-12 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Railroaders.

Gage Lewis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 147 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes. Those 144 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Tryston Martinez was another key player, rushing for 51 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carlin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 435 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Tonopah over Indian Springs in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Muckers blew the Thunderbirds out of the water with a 90-12 final score. The Muckers pushed the score to 76-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunderbirds had no chance of recovering from.
Tonopah found their leader in sophomore Otteson, who rushed for 152 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 89 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Landen Blackburn, who picked up 65 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Tonopah's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Remington Cobb, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Carlin's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Tonopah, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
Carlin was taken down by Tonopah 64-8 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Otteson, who rushed for 168 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
