Basketball Preview: Cross Plains Buffaloes vs. May Tigers
Cross Plains and the Tigers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Cross Plains Buffaloes will look to defend their home court on Friday against the May Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Cross Plains at home against the Bears as the team secured a 66-27 win. The victory was just what Cross Plains needed coming off of a 62-28 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, after only 17 points in their last matchup, May made sure to put some points up on the board against the Bulldogs on Tuesday. May simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 61-10 at home. With May ahead 40-3 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Cross Plains pushed their record up to 16-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.3 points. As for May, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Cross Plains, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-26 loss to the Tigers when the teams last played back in January.
