Football Recap: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. Havelock Rams

J.H. Rose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 27-19 to the Havelock Rams. While losing is never fun, the Rampants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Rams are ranked 21st).

Jimmy Martin and Jaidon Lovett certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Martin threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns, while Lovett picked up 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jonathan Williams was his usual excellent self, rushing for 241 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry for Havelock. Williams showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards. Lebron Sharpe handled things on the ground, rushing for 113 yards.

J.H. Rose's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Havelock, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

After each having a week off, J.H. Rose and Northern Nash will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 15th. Northern Nash is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, so J.H. Rose will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Havelock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
