Preview: Hanover-Horton Comets vs. Manchester Flying Dutchmen
Hanover-Horton is 9-1 against Manchester since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hanover-Horton Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Manchester Flying Dutchmen at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hanover-Horton and five for Manchester.
Hanover-Horton pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-62 to Jonesville.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from JJ Russ, who scored eight points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Soper, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manchester was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 42-37 to Homer.
Hanover-Horton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Manchester, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8.
Hanover-Horton and Manchester were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Hanover-Horton came up empty-handed after a 53-52 defeat. Can Hanover-Horton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
