Basketball Recap: South View Takes a Loss

South View lost against Lumberton back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers had to suffer through an 81-49 loss at the hands of the Pirates. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-20.

When it comes to explaining why South View lost, don't look at Jalen Mills. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Mills' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasimir Gibson, who had nine points.

Lumberton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amare Jones, who earned 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ayvan Redic, who scored 15 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, South View fell to 2-1. As for Lumberton, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

South View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-44 loss against Jack Britt on the 5th. As for Lumberton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 58-56 victory against Douglas Byrd on the 4th.
