Volleyball Recap: Texico's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Texico was the 3-0 winner over Cobre when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines fell 3-1 to the Indians on Saturday. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-19 in the first set.

Texico started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Texico lost, don't look at Gabby Delarosa. Despite the final result, she had 26 digs and six aces. Delarosa has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Texico's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Cobre, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texico is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Logan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cobre, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
