Preview: Golden Gate Titans vs. Bonita Springs Bullsharks

Golden Gate is 2-0 against Bonita Springs since September of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Golden Gate Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:00 p.m. Golden Gate has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 125 points over their last three games.

Last Friday, everything went Golden Gate's way against Barron Collier as Golden Gate made off with a 44-21 victory. The result was nothing new for Golden Gate, who have now won three matches by 23 points or more so far this season.

Golden Gate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trayvon Jean led the charge by rushing for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Jean's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was John lee Honorat, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

Meanwhile, Bonita Springs' recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their fifth straight loss. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gateway. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Bonita Springs was outscored by Gateway in the second.

The losing side was boosted by Riley Deremer, who gained 126 total yards and a touchdown.

Golden Gate's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Barron Collier, Gulf Coast, and Naples. Bonita Springs has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matches, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Golden Gate has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bonita Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Everything came up roses for Golden Gate against Bonita Springs in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Golden Gate since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
