Volleyball Recap: Homewood Patriots vs. Saraland Spartans
Homewood and Saraland squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Homewood had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Mary Ellis Jarmon paced Homewood's offense, picking up 11 kills. Jarmon got some help from Kamryn Coleman and her 30 assists. Coleman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Leading Saraland to victory were Bryleigh Goff and Taniyah Smith. Goff had 15 digs and three assists, while Smith had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Goff has posted over her last 15 contests.
This is the second loss in a row for Homewood and nudges their season record down to 24-20. As for Saraland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 36-8.
