Baseball Recap: Falls Lake Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Falls Lake Academy entered their tilt with Vance Charter on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Knights. The Firebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Nick Denny was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Jared Watson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Falls Lake Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Falls Lake Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Vance Charter, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Falls Lake Academy will face off against Eno River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.78 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vance Charter, they will venture away from home to square off against Warren County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
