While The Academy of the Holy Cross's win against St. John wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tartans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cadets 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Tartans, who have now won six matchups in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day The Academy of the Holy Cross got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11.

Ana Woods paced The Academy of the Holy Cross' offense, picking up 19 kills. Woods got some help from Vivian Blue and her 23 assists. Woods was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The Academy of the Holy Cross' victory bumped their record up to 26-0-1. As for St. John's, they dropped their record down to 15-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
