Crossroads Christian hasn't had much luck against Neuse Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Colts will welcome the Lions at 4:00 p.m.
Last Thursday, Crossroads Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Cape Fear Christian Academy and fell 3-2. While the Colts didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.
Crossroads Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-12, 15-12.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sophie Wade, who had 33 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Ranes, who had 17 digs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Neuse Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Albemarle School on Tuesday.
While Neuse Christian Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.
Crossroads Christian now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Neuse Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Crossroads Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Neuse Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
