Basketball Recap: Rockport-Fulton Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Rockport-Fulton proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 80) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bishop Badgers 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since November 25th.

Bishop lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kristian Ramos, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. That was a full 47.8% of Bishop's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. James Garcia was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Rockport-Fulton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Bishop, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9.

Rockport-Fulton will be taking part in a tournament against Lehman at 2:50 p.m. on December 27th. As for Bishop, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Corpus Christi United at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th.
