Aidan Kaulins was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 17 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Davis, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Lenawee Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springport). They claimed a resounding 80-43 victory over Maple Valley. With the Spartans ahead 44-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Springport's win came from a few key players Lenawee Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jake Kregel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Baum, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.
Springport pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Lenawee Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's match: Lenawee Christian has been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 40.2% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Springport, though, as they've only made 29.5% of their three-pointers this season. Given Lenawee Christian's sizable advantage in that area, Springport will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
