Football Recap: Louisburg Takes a Loss

Louisburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Clay Center Tigers 34-7. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Clay Center, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Eisaac Girton was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 110 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Cayden Schwab got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Louisburg will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eudora at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Clay Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
