Baseball Game Preview: Colfax Falcons vs. Rosemont Wolverines

The Colfax Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Rosemont Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, it was close, but Colfax sidestepped Nevada Union for a 7-5 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Tyler McCabe was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Stowers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Colfax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, everything went Rosemont's way against Kennedy on Thursday as Rosemont made off with a 20-7 win.

Emory Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Scott was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Lara, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Logan Wohlers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Colfax's record now sits at 2-0. As for Rosemont, their record is now an identical 2-0.

Colfax was able to grind out a solid victory over Rosemont in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, winning 3-0. Does Colfax have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
