Marian Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish by a score of 41-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.

Marian Catholic pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Bishop McNamara, their loss ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.

Marian Catholic will take on Lincoln-Way East in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Marian Catholic's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Lincoln-Way East's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop McNamara, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Crete-Monee at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
