Volleyball Recap: Concord Beats Union City for Their Fourth Straight Win + How To Watch

Concord came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Union City Chargers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

While Concord won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Concord can attribute much of their success to Lilie Vandenburg, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Vandenburg a new career-high.

Vandenburg wasn't the only good server: Concord was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. The Yellowjackets are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Concord's record is now 7-4-1. As for Union City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.

After both having extra time off, Concord and Maple Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Berrien Springs on the 13th.
