Baseball Recap: Cedar Ridge Find Success

Cedar Ridge came out on top against East Wake Academy on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Fighting Red Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Eagles.

Cedar Ridge pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Wake Academy, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Cedar Ridge will venture away from home to square off against Williams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Wake Academy, they will welcome Triangle Math & Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.71 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
