Baseball Game Preview: Bonners Ferry Badgers vs. Kellogg Wildcats

The Bonners Ferry Badgers will venture away from home to take on the Kellogg Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonners Ferry is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Bonners Ferry is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of North Central by a score of 15-14 on Tuesday. Even though they lost, the Badgers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Keenan Maas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronin Hanson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Kellogg fell victim to Grangeville and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 28-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Bonners Ferry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Kellogg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Bonners Ferry couldn't quite get it done against Kellogg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Badgers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
