Baseball Recap: Wolcott RVT Takes a Loss

Abbott RVT hit Wolcott RVT with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell 8-4 to the Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 two weeks ago.

Hunter Aeschlimann was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Devon Schmitt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Mason Carter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wolcott RVT and nudges their season record down to 9-5. As for Abbott RVT, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Wolcott RVT will take on Northwestern Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Abbott RVT, they will face off against Wright Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
