Softball Game Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Northeastern Jets

For the second straight game, West Jefferson will face off against Northeastern. The Roughriders will challenge the Jets at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. West Jefferson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Monday, West Jefferson got the win against Northeastern by a conclusive 9-1. Fans of the Roughriders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Jenna Mannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey McBrayer, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. Kimberly Warnock also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

West Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Northeastern now has a losing record of 2-3. As for West Jefferson, their record now sits at 5-0.
