Basketball Recap: Mishawaka Starts Season with Victory at Home

Mishawaka took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They managed a 50-44 victory over the New Prairie Cougars. The Cavemen haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miles McSurley, who posted nine points. Brody Wiginton was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mishawaka will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethany Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 5. As for New Prairie, they will take on Marquette Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on December 4.
