Basketball Recap: Verona Takes a Loss

Verona lost against Southwest back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Verona Wildcats lost to the Southwest Trojans on the road by a 58-43 margin.

Verona's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Southwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Verona will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East Newton at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Southwest, they are taking a road trip to face off against Billings at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Southwest is facing Billings at the right time seeing as Billings is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
