Soccer Game Preview: Evanston vs. Niles North + How To Watch

The Evanston Wildkits will take on the Niles North Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evanston's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Monday, Evanston didn't have quite enough to beat Glenbrook South and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Evanston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Glenbrook South are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Niles North kept a clean sheet against Maine West on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Warriors 1-0. The win continues a trend for Niles North in their matchups with Maine West: they've now won three in a row.

Evanston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-3. As for Niles North, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7-2.

Evanston took their win against Niles North in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Wildkits repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
