Recap: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. West Orange Warriors
On Saturday, Riverview Sarasota was able to grind out a solid win over West Orange, taking the game 44-36. Given Riverview Sarasota's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while West Orange is ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverview Sarasota got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Susan Lowther out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Sims, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Riverview Sarasota pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for West Orange, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parrish Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
