Baseball Game Preview: Haldane Blue Devils vs. Tuckahoe Tigers

For the second straight game, Haldane will face off against Tuckahoe. The Blue Devils will welcome the Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Haldane has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 19 straight defeats, while Tuckahoe will come in with four straight victories.

Haldane heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Monday. They lost 17-0 to Tuckahoe.

For Tuckahoe's part, Connor Brice made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Brice has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played.

In other batting news, Tuckahoe got a massive performance out of Jay Romeo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Romeo has posted since back in May of 2025. Luca Delconte was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Tuckahoe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tuckahoe's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Haldane, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.
