Basketball Recap: Kanab Starts off Right with Win over Desert Hills

Kanab gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Desert Hills Thunder by a score of 61-48. That's more bragging rights for the Cowboys, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rylee Little was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 22 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave her a new career-high. Jaydee Houston was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points and five steals.

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emeli Langi, who posted nine points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ellie Heaton, who had eight points and four steals.

Kanab didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-43 win against Pine View on the 20th. As for Desert Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
