Football Game Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. East Hardy Cougars

The Cameron Dragons will head out on the road to take on the East Hardy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Cameron is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Bridgeport 53-6 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-6.

Marshall Holland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 309 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Talen Brown, who rushed for 111 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cameron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 453 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Cameron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Soier Reed led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Brown got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, East Hardy came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 55-26. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by 27 points or more so far this season.

Cameron's record is now 5-2. As for East Hardy, their record now sits at 5-3.
