Softball Recap: Wauconda Bulldogs vs. Boonville Pioneers

Wauconda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boonville Pioneers.

Georgia Reimers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Ellary Nick and Madison May did some serious damage despite the final result: Nick scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while May went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Ashley Maxwell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Wauconda's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Boonville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wauconda will take on Forrest in a tournament on Friday. As for Boonville, they will welcome Evansville North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
