Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Park Place Christian Academy

Park Place Christian Academy lost to Discovery Christian back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Crusaders walked away with a 62-55 win over Discovery Christian. While the Crusaders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Despite the loss, Discovery Christian still got an impressive performance from Landry Grubbs, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Grubbs is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Lake Austin, who posted 12 points.

The victory (which was Park Place Christian Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Discovery Christian, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-2.

Park Place Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-42 defeat against Pisgah on the 22nd. As for Discovery Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tallulah Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd.
