Conifer suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars

The Conifer Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-13 defeat at the hands of D'Evelyn. Conifer was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-6.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Eleanor Sikora, Lila Braun, and Finley Johnson posted three points each.

D'Evelyn was led to victory by Macy Scheer and Peyton Marvel. Scheer scored 18 points along with five steals, while Marvel dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Marvel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Malina Goldstein was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.

Conifer's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for D'Evelyn, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Conifer will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheat Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheat Ridge is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for D'Evelyn, they will head out on the road to take on Standley Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Standley Lake is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
