Baseball Recap: Arapahoe's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Arapahoe dropped their record down to 10-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grandview Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Tyson Watson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Syers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Grandview, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Grandview's side, Jax Pfister was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pfister has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Grandview got a great performance from Nick Martensen as he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Martensen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Chase Chapman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Bohmeyer, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.

While Arapahoe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
