Football Game Preview: Beardstown Tigers vs. West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars

The Beardstown Tigers will face off against the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beardstown has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 29.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-6, which was the final score in Beardstown's tilt against Carrollton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after only six points in their last matchup, West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] made sure to put some points up on the board against Unity/Seymour on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 58-50 win over the Mustangs. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Beardstown better keep an eye on Tucker Arnold. He was instrumental in West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]'s win, rushing for 185 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Those 185 rushing yards gave Arnold a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryker Ford, who rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown.

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

The win got West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] back to even at 4-4. As for Beardstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Beardstown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] when the teams last played back in September of 2022, but they still walked away with a 22-16 victory.
