Recap: Pebble Hills Spartans vs. Permian Panthers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Pebble Hills Spartans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 26-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Permian on Friday. Pebble Hills' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Pebble Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zereian Quarles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 88 yards.
Juzstyce Lara was his usual excellent self, rushing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Lara hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Pebble Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Permian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Pebble Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Permian is on the road again on Friday and play against North Crowley at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. North Crowley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Permian likes a good challenge.
